Mukesh graduated in Chemistry from the University of Leeds in 1992. As an undergraduate, he had research papers published in the field of organophosphorus chemistry. He has worked in agrochemical, FMCG, print & pharmaceutical industries with most of his career spent at Mars Inc. He has a unique blend of both commercial and technical experience and qualification. As well being a chartered chemist, chartered buyer (gained via exam route) he is also a Dale Carnegie Management graduate.
During his career, he has held posts as a Chemist, Chemicals Buyer, Commercial Buyer, Regulatory Affairs Manager, Pharmaceutical Quality Manager, Pharmaceutical Compliance Manager & Group QA Manager. In 2008, he established his own consultancy, CommQP Pharmaceutical Services, which provide commercial and technical services.
Whilst at Mars, Mukesh gained broad pharmaceutical experience ranging from sourcing and purchasing API’s and excipients, conducting internal & vendor audits, obtaining marketing & manufacturing authorisations and finally certifying batches as the nominated Pharmaceutical Quality Manager. He was responsible for obtaining licences for the first truly palatable veterinary medicine for dogs and cats on the UK market. Mukesh has conducted both QA & commercial audits on an international basis and has completed ISO lead auditor training.
He has a keen interest in applying Lean principles and quality management techniques so helping to drive out unnecessary complexity to improve efficiency as well as regulatory compliance. Mukesh is eligible to act as a Qualified Person under the permanent provisions of directive 2001/83EC. His specialist area is pharmaceutical artwork origination.
